Turmeric’s primary active compound, curcumin, gives the spice its deep golden color. For years, researchers have investigated whether curcumin can reduce neuroinflammation, support new neuron growth, and protect memory. Anyone considering high-dose therapeutic extracts should consult a healthcare provider first, as concentrated curcumin can interact with blood thinners and gallbladder conditions.
